Strawberry Kiwi Yogurt Smoothie

Attention: If you are reading this, please come to Florida and eat some strawberries.  There are simply too many and I cannot eat them all myself.  So now I have no choice but to start drinking them…in smoothie form.  Drinking smoothies for me is sort of a new thing.  This wasn’t my first rodeo with the blender, but in the family household growing up, we didn’t dare put such things as YOGURT into the blender.  Only ice cream was allowed.  So I guess that really made our blended drinks milkshakes, not smoothies.  But I have been in love with plain yogurt lately and thought hm…if I use yogurt here instead, it’s a healthy drink!  And breakfast worthy.  What I love most about this drink is the slight pop of the kiwi seeds in your mouth when drinking the smoothie.  Yum.  So good.  Here’s how to make some:

Ingredients:
1 cup Plain yogurt
1/2 lb strawberries, fresh
1/8 tsp vanilla extract
2 kiwis
1.5 cups ice
1/4 cup honey (I prefer sweetening with honey but you could do a simple syrup if you want)

Directions:
Peel the kiwis. Cut the stems off the strawberries.  No need to cut either the kiwis or strawberries up.

Stick everything in a blender and blend until smooth.  Wow.  I think those are the shortest directions I have ever written.

Drink your smoothies promptly because they will start to separate pretty quickly.  If they do, just give them a little stir.  Enjoy!  See you tomorrow.  Friday… yippeeeeeee!
